The best of the folk tradition, this fine young duo impresses from their first song set.  Outstanding vocals and sensitive instrumentation has earned them many club and festival spots in the last two years.

DAVE GIBB

Saturday 27 April 2019
Both acts are returning to Faldingworth as a double header by popular demand.  Ishani and Sue are a Lincoln based duo who perform Americana and old times folk-country songs with particularly delightful harmonies.  Dave is a finger picking guitar player with bluesy, folky and jazzy influence, who likes to have a bit of a giggle.

SARA GREY & KEIRON MEANS (£11)

SUNDAY 19 May 2019
Returning to Fladingworth on what might well be one of their last few ever British dates, they are going to perform a SPECIAL SHOW seen usually only at FESTIVALS.  They take us on a musical journey starting in Maine, travelling down the east side of America to New Orleans and finishing in San Fransisco.

One of our favourite performers at our Lincoln venue, a man-with-a-guitar who we decided to share with Faldingworth.  Gentle, funny and wise...always a delight.

First seen at Warwick Festival this summer, a trio of charming ladies, with funny, sad, delightful songs and harmonies...with just a touch of female emancipation!!...they sung in the pouring rain and wind and kept their audience...what better accolade?

Had them before....and would have them again.  An excellent duo on guitar and fiddle with a very entertaining set of songs and reminiscences.  A good representation of where the Canadian folk scene is now, we are fortunate to have them as part of their third UK tour.

Tom is a Geordie fiddler and singer who has been around a very long time and if you do festivals you might well have heard him somewhere, sometime.  He has a lovely litling soft baritone and a great stage presence and accompanies himself very sweetly on the fiddle.  David Newey is a great player and definitely gilds the lilly!

You might want to know why we booked these artists…./more about theses artists, so here goes….

WE NEVER BOOK ARTISTS WITHOUT SEEING THEM PERFORM LIVE FIRST….

...we are looking for quality of musicianship and empathy with the audience….however much we love some artists, we have to believe our audience will too or else we know we can't sell them….

…we believe in giving a varied programme of content and artists, mainly showcasing folk music but interspersing that with some blues and roots.  Our programme reflects a balance between returning artists at audience requests and new artists that have not previously performed at Faldingworth.

JIMMY ALDRIDGE AND SID GOLDSMITH
Saturday 30 March 2019
First seen by us at BROADSTAIRS FESTIVAL two years ago, we are going to see them again at the same festival in a couple of weeks time...because this young duo delights us as they perform of-the-moment traditional music.  We play them at breakfast time again and again (in our household the set time for folk - of course there are other times too).  I come downstairs, hear them playing and think 'that is good, who are they?...Oh yes!' They have a stated respect for the tradition and are to be spotted at other performers gigs....just listening.

THE RYE SISTERS and DAVE GIBB
Saturday 27 April 2019
Like a lot of people we have seen the Rye Sisters (who actually aren't sisters) blossom and grow. They obviously love their music and it is a delight to hear them perform particularly their harmonies, which are something special.
Dave Gibb was that rare artist for us...we took him as a support on nothing but his own recommendation...and he was so good and entertaining here he is in a double header and not  supporting.

SARA GREY and KEIRON MEANS
SUNDAY 19 May 2019
Andy is really pleased about this particular booking.  He has seen the show they are putting on twice before and was knocked out both times.  He has a real interest in American history and loves the way they tell the story.  I haven't seen it but I trust his judgement and I have seen these two a lot of times and they never fail to give enjoyment.

COLUM SANDS
Saturday 21 September 2019
There is something about Colum Sands....he seems on first acquaintance such a quiet, sort of an unspectacular performer.  Then his songs, which are really stories start to draw you in ...and you could listen to him all night.  One of my favourites.

DAISY BELL
Saturday 12 October 2019
Three clear worded, very harmonious ladies first seen at Warwick singing in the rain this summer.  I love that they do some musical hall type songs, but every song they sing has words worth listening to.....

MY SWEET PATOUTIE
Saturday 2 November 2019
Seen quite a few times now and even enjoyed by my garage playing DJ son-in-law, who usually doesn't do folk music, we always find them entertaining and the time passes quickly in their presence...not English folk music...but Canadian and who cares anyway?  We first booked them a little hesitantly but happily they have always gone down well.  Definitely a bit different.

TOM McCONVILLE and DAVID NEWEY
Saturday 30 November 2019

Tom was one of the first artists I saw when I was introduced to folk music.  He has played with various artists over the years and knows how to work an audience like an old pro.  I particularly enjoyed his partnership with Pauline Cato.  But this promises to be a good duo and Andy came back from hearing them play together full of praise.
