Artists perform on a good sized stage and there is an excellent sound system controlled by our sound engineer Pete Wray ably abetted by Helen Wray.  Comfortable seats are provided in rows and you are guided to your designated seats on arrival, after purchasing your reserved ticket(s) at the door.  This door is situated at the front of the hall abutting the village pavement. YOU MAY RESERVE TICKETS FOR FUTURE PERFORMANCES at the door if you wish.

There are lots of regulars AND people who come just for one or two particular artists.  All are warmly welcomed.

FALDINGWORTHLIVE
Andy Watkins books the artists, promotes their music and provides and sells the tickets and sits on the door. The bar, hospitality and ample raffle is provided by Faldingworth Memorial Hall Committee without whose effort and goodwill none of these concerts could happen.

…..Christmas Event for Saturday 29 December 2018 is JEZ LOWE and KATE BRAMLEY!! (need no introduction for most of us - but please, if you have not heard them before, give it a try - this is folk music at its best, to be enjoyed by the most unfolky!) and possibly mulled wine and mince pies - we are planning a full buffet do for the following Christmas.

The best of the folk tradition, this fine young duo impresses from their first song set.  Outstanding vocals and sensitive instrumentation has earned them many club and festival spots in the last two years.

LINCOLNFOLK.COM for Folk-in-the-Cellar
is another venue run by Andy and held in Lincoln….AND HAS MOVED TO LINCOLN DRILL HALL (and become...da-dah FOLK UPSTAIRS IN THE DRILL)

So check out at lincolnfolk.com.. for the PROGRAMME FOR 2018 STEVE TILSTON (November 2018) and JACK RUTTER(December 2018) or go to lincolndrillhall.com and look under the respective months.

You might want to know why we booked these artists…./more about theses artists, so here goes….

WE NEVER BOOK ARTISTS WITHOUT SEEING THEM PERFORM LIVE FIRST….

...we are looking for quality of musicianship and empathy with the audience….however much we love some artists, we have to believe our audience will too or else we know we can't sell them….

…we believe in giving a varied programme of content and artists, mainly showcasing folk music but interspersing that with some blues and roots.  Our programme reflects a balance between returning artists at audience requests and new artists that have not previously performed at Faldingworth.

SUMMER RECESS

TELL TALE TUSK
Saturday 15 September 2018
Another first at Faldingworth, four charming young ladies first seen at Broadstairs Festival in 2017…and we instantly decided had to be booked - lovely harmonies - lovely variety and a real attack to their light-hearted and winning performance.

ALDEN, PATTERSON & DASHWOOD
Saturday 6 October 2018
Another first at Faldingworth, we saw them perform at Broadstairs.  This trio boasts a fine dobro player and a lovely fiddler.  Their performance does not necessarily grab your attention instantly but as they continue you find yourself enjoying them more and more…..

THE MILE ROSES
Saturday 27 October 2018
First seen by us at Stainsby Festival in 2017, they have lovely vocals and imaginative instrumentals and were much enjoyed by local audiences in a recent village hall tour.

FLOSSIE MALAVIALLE
Saturday 17 November 2018
Not a first at Faldingworth but a much requested return for this amazing French lady with the fabulous voice and a great pair of lungs….only approximately folk music which bothers no folk audience for whom she performs all over the UK as well as for non-folk audiences.

JEZ LOWE AND KATE BRAMLEY
Saturday 29 December 2018
Jez and his Mrs (a much welcome addition) are playing again for us at Christmas, but this time in Faldingworth.  What can you say about the guy? he is droll, of the moment and his voice has a special seductive (!!) quality ....we love him as do so many others and this has been a sell-out event for us for the last five years...his visit to us fits conveniently into his itinerary as he pops down from his annual Christmas gig at the Sage.  Kate adds lovely instrumental and vocal accompaniment.

JIMMY ALDRIDGE AND SID GOLDSMITH
Saturday 30 March 2019
First seen by us at BROADSTAIRS FESTIVAL two years ago, we are going to see them again at the same festival in a couple of weeks time...because this young duo delights us as they perform of-the-moment traditional music.  We play them at breakfast time again and again (in our household the set time for folk - of course there are other times too).  I come downstairs, hear them playing and think 'that is good, who are they?...Oh yes!' They have a stated respect for the tradition and are to be spotted at other performers gigs....just listening.

OUR SUPPORT ARTISTS

mentioning them last of all - they are definitely not least - and we are proud and grateful for the quality and performances of the local artists we invite to open every great Faldingworthlive night!…and not forgetting our comperes Sue Dewsbury, Alan Ritson and Tom Lane.
